When we talk about the typical ‘Brabantse gezelligheid’, we are talking about Veran. The 26-year-old was born and raised in Tilburg, which is practically next to Waalwijk. This was an important priority for her, being close to home and in Brabant! She has been working for The Mandemakers Group as a Scrum Master for almost 2 years. On a daily basis, she is the person in the team who ensures the cooperation within the various scrum teams of the digitization department. Together they work in sprints and are daily engaged in improving, innovating and expanding the Pega applications.
‘’Many friends move to Amsterdam, but I rather stay in Brabant’’
Looking for a career in the world of IT, I was hoping for a job close to home. Fortunately, I found exactly that in the heart of Brabant. If you're looking for coziness, you won't be disappointed at De Mandemakers Groep. They surprised me immediately with a warm family atmosphere, openness and the typical ‘Brabant coziness’. I felt at home immediately. And let's not forget the delicious Brabant traditions such as sausage rolls on Mondays and ‘frikandellen’ on Fridays - what more could you want?
Not only the nice atmosphere at the office, but also the invitation to the grandiose company party surprised me immediately. Despite the fact that I had only been employed for a month, it made no difference. Some colleagues had already whispered to me that I could have high expectations, because this company party took place once every two years and was known for going big. And honestly, that was not a lie.

The last edition, and for me also the only one so far, featured the Viva Las Vegas festival. A huge festival site was built, with three diverse music stages. A main stage, where various cover bands performed, the Dutch-language stage, and the impressive Dance stage, made the evening unforgettable. That night we were treated to performances by big artists like Flemming, Wolter Kroes, La Fuente, and Brace. How cool! With so many great artists performing at the same time, sometimes we just didn't know where to be.
‘’Twice a year, we also receive an invitation to the well-known summer and Christmas parties.’’
Near the start of the summer holiday, it is an annual tradition to organize a delightful summer gathering on the area behind our warehouse, which is also adjacent to our headquarters. During this event, we celebrate the upcoming summer holiday period with delicious food, drinks, and an atmospheric band. And just before the holidays arrive, the Christmas drinks are scheduled. Again, we know it will be a cozy feast. As always, everything is arranged to perfection by De Mandemakers Groep.
What I will never forget is that during one edition of the summer gathering, our manager jumped on the rodeo bull, and guess what. He kept it up for a long time too, haha!
